About Us

Pam and Rick Dors are the owners/managers of Evergreen and work together making the necessary additions and improvements, although Pam handles the majority of horse care. She has over 20 years of riding and horse care experience. While Pam doesn't do the day-to-day teaching and training she enjoys overseeing all aspects of the farm including the scheduling of training clients, lessons, and clinics. She works very closely with the professionals at Evergreen to be sure the horses and clients are all kept happy. Her love of horses began at the age of 9 and, by age 11, she had her first horse, Tiffany. She has shown extensively in hunt seat equitation, jumpers, western pleasure, and gymkhana events.

In 1986 Pam and her horse Cephie went to college at Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, VA where she graduated with a degree in Equine Managemen. tIn addition to extensive daily riding instruction, she excelled on the school’s elite riding team. Pam also took classes in farm, horse show and business management, as well as equine development and behavior, anatomy, physiology, nutrition, lameness and disease, breeding and genetics, training and schooling and advanced riding instruction. With her formal education and years of hands-on experience, you and your horse will be well cared for and feel right at home at Evergreen.
